Visit of Ramon Magsaysay Award Winner (2007) Dr.Mahabir Pun On 14 February ,2010 Ramon Magsaysay Award Winner (2007) Dr.Mahabir Pun eminent social activist visited KISS. He received a warm welcome by Dr. A. Samanta, Secretary, the students and staff of KISS. He unveiled a plaque in the honour of his visit. He went around the campus and was very pleased .He interacted with the students in the meeting at lawn. Visit of Shri Kantilal Bhuria, Hon’ble Minister for Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India Shri Kantilal Bhuria, Hon’ble Minister for Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India inaugurated an International Seminar on 'We and our Tribes Caring culture and sharing thoughts’ at KISS on 10th February 2010. The seminar will continue for a period of two months. A large number of eminent academicians and personalities will deliver lecture on various aspects of tribal development during the course. He also inaugurated UNFPA-KISS Life Skill Office and a Dongaria Kondh Demo House. The Hon’ble Union Minister visited different units of KISS and planted a sapling. A meeting was arranged in the lawn. Routray, CEO, KISS with 10,000 tribal students from Kindergarten to Postgraduate level, delegates, staff from KIIT & KISS ,a large number of parents and guardian were present to grace the occasion. Visit of Mr. Sami Baig, Regional Director, Indian Subcontinent, Edexcel Limited, UK On 8th Febuary,2010 Mr. Sami Baig, Regional Director, Indian Subcontinent, Edexcel Limited, UK. visited KISS. Visit of Hon’ble Justice J.S.Verma former Chief Justice, Supreme Court On 8th Febuary, 2010 Hon’ble Justice J.S.Verma former chief justice, Supreme Court of India visited KISS. He received a warm welcome by Dr. A. Samanta, Secretary, the students and staff of KISS. He unveiled a plaque in the honour of his visit. He went around the campus and interacted with the students. Visit of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan A team of 84 youth from Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan ,visited KISS on 8th Febuary,2010. The team is on Bharat Parikrama. They will visit places of social, economical, industrial, scientific, academic , historical, religious and tourist importance. They received a warm welcome by the students and staff of KISS. They went around the campus and interacted with the tribal students. International Adoption Programme held at KISS On 31st January, 2010 “International Adoption Programme” was held at KISS. Forty number of students were adopted by Hanseo University, South Korea. The occasion was graced with esteemed guest of honor Mr. D.W.Sung ,Director POSCO India, Shri Priyabrata Patnaik IAS, CMD IIDCO, Dr.Kim Senug Jae, Dean student affairs, Hanseo University, South Korea, Mr.Rajesh Chintak ,Orissa Head Tata Steel. They received a warm welcome by Dr. A.Samanta, Secretary, the students and staff of KISS. Visit of Dr. KIM, SENUG-JAE, Dean and delegates from Hanseo University, South Korea Under the guidance of Dr. KIM, SENUG-JAE, Dean student affairs a team of thirteen student delegates from Hanseo University, South Korea visited KISS on 28th January 2010. The team interacted with the staff and students during their eight-day tour. They were involved with different activities like mass hair-cut, plantation, class-room activities of KISS. This will help the students of the two countries to understand and appreciate each other's culture. Visit of Prof. (Dr.) Sul Dong Ho, Hon'ble President Hanbat National University, South Korea On 17th January 2010 Prof. (Dr.) Sul Dong Ho, Hon'ble President Hanbat National University, South Korea, with his other delegates visited KISS. He received a warm welcome from KISS family. He went around the campus and interacted with the tribal students. He expressed his happiness and praised the efforts made by Dr. A. Samant in the field of education Visit of Prof. (Dr.) Ruandet Wongla, President of Chiang Mai Rajbhat University, Thailand On 15th January 2010 Prof. (Dr.) Ruandet Wongla, President of Chiang Mai Rajbhat University, Thailand, with his other delegates visited KISS. He received a warm welcome from KISS family. They observed different activities of KISS which immensely impressed them and showered great appreciation for Dr. Samant’s work in educating the tribal students at KISS.   Visit of Dr. Marce Derveeuw, Dy. Country Director, UNFPA On 15th January ,2010 Dr.Marce Derveeuw Dy. Country Director UNFPA visited KISS with other delegates from UNFPA. They received a warm welcome by Dr. A. Samanta, Secretary, the students and staff of KISS .They observed different activities of KISS   Visit of Mr. Sanjay Wadvani, British Deputy High Commissioner, Kolkata Mr. Sanjay Wadvani, British Deputy High Commissioner, Kolkata with his other team members visited KISS on 18th January 2010. They received a warm welcome by Dr. A. Samanta, Secretary, the students and staff of KISS. He went around the campus and interacted with the tribal students. A meeting was arranged at the lawn. Mr.Sanjay expressed his happiness and praised the efforts made by Dr. A. Samant in the field of education.   Annual Athletic Meet of KISS KISS celebrate its Annual Athletic Meet on 16th &17th of January 2010. It was inagurated by Dr.P. K. Das. Students of different age group participated in the various games.Different events like 50 mts race, 80 mts race, balloon burst, high jump, long jump, 110m hurdles etc was conducted among the students. Musical chair, was at the end for all staff members. Closing ceremony was held on 17th January. A large team of intellectuals from different educational institutions across the world visited KISS on the ceremony. On the event all the ten thousand tribal students along with staff of KISS held a two-minute condolence prayer in remembrance of the victims of Haiti Earthquake and death of Mr. Jyoti Basu, Former Chief Minister of West Bengal. The ceremony ends with a cultural programme by the tribal students.
