FOR ADMISSION TO POST GRADUATE CLASSES
1. COLLEGE
Established in 1993, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Run by Kalinga Relief and Charitable Trust is the largest residential Tribal Institute in India. With an objective to extend the facilities of education to the under privileged tribal children, 7000 tribal students are being given free education , fooding, lodging, boarding and other facilities.
KISS provides free education from lower primary to post graduate level along with vocational training which would prepare the students for employment.
From the current Academic year the Institute aims to provide free education to tribal students not only form inside the state but also from outside, including foreign countries at the level of graduation and post graduation.
Subjects offered at P.G level are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Political Science, Philosophy, Economics, History, Tribal Study, Sociology, Anthropology, Accountancy English and Oriya.
2. ELIGIBILITY
Candidates who have passed the three year Degree course Examination from a recognized University / Institution with a minimum 45% marks in the concerned Honours subject are eligible to apply for admission to P.G Classes – 2008. Those who have passed the three year Degree course Examination from a University / Institution situated outside the state of Orissa where the provision of Honours does not exists be eligible to apply for P.G course provided they have taken examination in the concerned subject with 8 papers carrying at least 800 marks subject to the minimum eligibility conditions laid down above. Admission is open to aspiring tribal candidates from Orissa, outside Orissa and abroad.
The mode of teaching / instructions in both at graduation and post graduation level in English.
3. APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Students desirous of taking admission to P.G classes are required to apply in plain paper by 30th July, 2009 with the following documents duly attested.
a) Caste Certificate
b) Mark sheets and certificates of all Examinations starting from H.S.C Examination.
c) College leaving certificate from the institution last attested.
d) Conduct Certificate form the Head of the Institution.
e) Five nos. of passport size photographs.
f) Documents / Certificates relating to BPL / Antordaya / Annaparna / Annual income certificate.
4. SELECTION FOR ADMISSION
Final selection of candidates will be made on the basis of the marks obtained at the Graduate level. For compartmental subjects, the average of the two marks will be considered.
5. DISPATCH / DISPLAY OF ADMISSION INFORMATION
Candidates selected for admission will be intimated individually by post regarding the date of admission. The names of selected candidates will also be displayed on the college notice board.
6. DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION

Original Certificate / Mark sheets of all examination

Original college leaving certificate

Original conduct certificate form the Head of Institution last attested.
- Recent original caste certificate form a Revenue officer not below the rank of Tahasildar.
- Income Certificate from a Revenue Officer not below.
7. EXAMINATION PATTERN
Annual examination as per the Utkal University schedule after the end of each year.
N.B: Girls students will be given priority for admission in the above courses and in case more seats are available, application of Boys will be considered.
Note: - Any clarification sought in matters of admission shall be brought to the notices of the Principal. The decision of the Principal on matters of admission is final and binding on all concerned.
