FOR ADMISSION TO DEGREE CLASSES
- COLLEGE
Established in 1993, Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), Run by Kalinga Relief and Charitable trust is the largest residential Tribal Institute in India. With an objective to extend the facilities of education to the under privileged tribal children, 7000 tribal students are being given free education, fooding, lodging, boarding and other facilities.
KISS provides free education from lower primary to post graduate level along with vocational training which would prepare the students for employment.
From the current Academic year the Institute aims to provide free education to tribal students not only from inside the state but also from outside, including foreign countries at the level of graduation and post graduation.
- SUBJECTS / COMBINATION AVAILABLE
a) Three year Degree pass course – Arts ( 128 seats)
b) Three year Degree pass course – Science (CBZ/PCM) 64 Seats
c) Three year Degree pass course – Commerce (128 seats)
d) Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) – 32 Seats
e) Bachelor in Computer Application (BCA) – 32 Seats
- ELIGIBILITY
i. Candidates who have passed the CHSE or equivalent examination
from an institution recognized by CHSE, Orissa will be eligible for admission.
ii. An applicant for more than one stream has to apply in separate application from specified for the stream.
iii. An applicant for Science stream applying for more than one combination (PCM/CBZ) has to apply in separate application froms.
4. APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
Students desirous of taking admission into the above mentioned courses are required to apply in plain paper latest by 30th July with the following documents duly attested.
a) Caste Certificate
b) Mark sheets and certificates of all examinations starting from HSC / Equivalent.
c) School / College leaving Certificate last attended.
d) Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended.
e) Five nos. of passport size photographs.
f) Documents / Certificates relating to BPL / Antardaya / Annapurna / Annual income Certificate.
5. PRINCIPLE OF SELECTION FOR ADMISSION
Fin selection of candidates will be made on the basis of the marks obtained in the CHSE examination .For CHSE students the marks in 4th extra optional are excluded.
ICSE / CBSE students failing in Physics or Mathematics and CHSE students failing in Mathematics (4th Optional) shall not be eligible for admission to 1st
Year Degree course in Science (PCM). Students failing in Chemistry shall not be eligible for admission to PCM or CBZ groups in 1st year degree course in Science. Students failing in Biology shall not be eligible for admission to CBZ groups in 1st year degree course in Science.
For admission to BBA or BCA course minimum 40% marks in the qualifying examination is required.
For Compartmental subjects, the average of the marks in subjects in which the students has initially failed and subsequently passed will be considered.
6. DESPATCH / DISPLAY OF ADMISSION INFORMATION
Candidates selected for admission will be intimated individually by post regarding the date of admission .The names of selected candidates will also be displayed on the College Notice Board.
7. DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION
a) Intimation letter
b) Original Certificate / Mark sheets of all examinations.
c) Original College leaving Certificate.
d) Original conduct certificate from the Head of Institution last attested.
e) Recent original caste Certificate from a Revenue officer not below the rank of Tasildar.
f) Income Certificate from a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tasildar.
N.B: Girl students will be given priority for admission in the above courses
and in case more seats are available, application of Boys will be considered.
Note:- Any clarification sought in matters of admission shall be brought to the notices of the Principal. The decision of the Principal on matters of admission is final and binding on all concerned.
